Privacy Policy

This explains what happens to your data when you use the Blipp app or this website. The controller is Richard Povýšil, reachable at hello@meetblipp.com.

The important part first

The text you rewrite never reaches us. Out of the box Blipp's AI is Apple Intelligence, running on your own Mac, where Apple provides it. What you copy, select or rewrite is not sent to us, is not stored on a server, and is never used to train anything. We could not read it even if we wanted to.

If you choose to put your own OpenAI or Claude API key into the app, the text of those actions goes to that provider, under your account and their terms, not ours. Your key is stored in the macOS Keychain and never sent to us either. Leave the setting alone and none of this applies.

What we do collect

  • Your account. When you sign in, we store your email address and a user id so we know who owns a licence. Sign-in is handled by Clerk.
  • Your purchase. If you buy Blipp, we store the payment reference, amount and currency so we can prove the purchase and handle refunds. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
  • Licence keys. If you redeem a giveaway key, we record which account used it, so it cannot be used twice.
  • Support emails. If you write to us, we keep the conversation so we can follow it up.
  • Ad measurement, only if you accept cookies. Which page you opened, whether you started the download, and the identifiers in the Meta cookies. Sent to Meta so we can see which advert worked. Refuse the cookie banner and none of this happens.

Why we are allowed to

  • Performing our contract with you covers your account, your licence and your purchase. Without this data we cannot give you what you paid for.
  • Legitimate interest covers keeping the service secure and preventing abuse of giveaway keys.
  • Legal obligation covers keeping invoices and tax records.
  • Consent covers optional analytics cookies, which you can refuse without losing anything.

Who else processes it

These providers act on our instructions and only get what they need:

  • Clerk — accounts and sign-in.
  • Stripe — payments. Stripe is a controller in its own right for fraud prevention.
  • Vercel — hosting for this site and the API.
  • Neon — the database holding licences and purchase records.
  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — ad measurement, and only after you accept cookies. Meta uses what it receives for its own purposes as well, which makes us joint controllers with it for this one step. Your page visit is sent from your browser and from our server; any email address is hashed before it is sent, so Meta only ever sees a fingerprint of it.

Some of these process data outside the EU. Where they do, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account and licence data stays while your account exists. Purchase and invoice records are kept for ten years because Slovak tax law requires it. Delete your account and everything else goes with it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@meetblipp.com and you will hear back from a person.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Slovak Data Protection Authority (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dataprotection.gov.sk).

Children

Blipp is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
